Hello Everyone!! I’m embarking on a new journey and wanted to bring you along. I have made the decision to abstain from alcohol after more than 20+years of consumption. Why? I didn't enjoy how drinking even a small amount of alcohol made me feel physically or mentally, so this wasn't a difficult decision for me. The joint pain, bloat, recurrent colds (weakened immune system), and hangover-like symptoms is not worth it. After starting my mission to live an alcohol-free life and doing additional research, I've learned that drinking alcohol in any amount is never safe. Alcohol is a toxic and has been linked to long term health risks. Alcohol use can lead to the high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, liver disease, depressive symptoms, and digestive problems. Cancer of the breast, mouth, throat, esophagus, liver, colon, and rectum.
It’s my sixteenth day without alcohol, and I feel fantastic. Alcohol increases inflammation, so after the holiday weekend, I can tell with certainty that I'm less bloated and that’s due to the fact that I didn't drink. Additionally, since I've given up alcohol, I've noticed that my hip discomfort from the injury has decreased significantly.
If you're not ready to give up alcohol entirely, I highly advise you to think about reducing your use; it will be good for your long-term health.
I'll give you an update in 30 days and share my ideas on the physical and mental health benefits of my alcohol-free lifestyle.
Much love,
Monica
